TULSA MAYOR HOPEFUL CLAY CLARK LAYS OUT HIS VIEWS, BELIEFS, AND VALUES.

    October 25th 2008

Despite the apparent necessity of running a "dirty" campaign to win an election in today's political climate, I am choosing to not follow the well worn path of attacking people instead of attacking issues in the 2010 Tulsa Mayor campaign. My philosophy on this is simple, I will not attack people, I will only attack issues and erroneous ideologies.

Being that I am an average human, I have spent a considerable amounts of time connecting with friends, family members, coworkers, neighbors, members of my church, and the "men of valore" (that I play basketball with on Wednesday and Friday mornings) I have determined that nearly everyone detests negative campaigns about as much as I do. Thus while running for Mayor as part of the Vote For Clay Clark "Small Government = Big Wallets For You" Campaign I vow to conduct myself like an elected official should in this regard. I will simply not engage in the types of negative campaigns that Tulsans have grown accustomed to, although I might challenge the current Mayor to many debates (and maybe the occasional "rap battle" to appease the young voters). I think that Mayor Taylor is doing the best job that she can do while embracing the left's agenda. I simply believe that the left is wrong, and the right is right.

For more information on the Clay Clark for Tulsa Mayor "Small Government = Big Wallets For You" Campaign call 918-481-2010 and ask for Clay Clark. He will be standing (or sitting) by.

    Clay Clark

    SBA Entrepreneur of the Year, 2010 Mayor-To-Be & Ultra-Conservative-Capitalist

    918-481-2010

    Clay Clark Beliefs:

    1) "Government is a necessary evil." - Thomas Jefferson - Translation: Government should be kept small.

    2) "The best way to help the poor is not to become one of them." - Abraham Lincoln - Translation: Work hard to feed and take care of yourself, don't act like a socialist economy infant constantly looking to the Government for sustanance.

    3) Accountablity - All Americans should know what goverment is spending and what goverment employees are making. It is government's job to represent the people, not to fleece the people. - Translation: The Clark campaign will make all campaign financial documents an issue of public record.

    4) Issue Focussed - When I am elected as Mayor it will be my job to get things done, not to attack people and to blame politicial parties. - Translation - I will treat the root of the issues, not just the fruit.

    5) Communication - When running for office and after being elected I will keep the lines of communication open with Tulsans. - Translation - My plan is to host a weekly 2 hour radio show that will serve as an opportunity for Tulsans to ask me questions and to hold me accountable to serving them.

    6) Strong Moral Values - Although, like most people I do fall very short of the example that Christ left for us, I will always vote in favor of the moral values that I hold dear as a Christian. Since my son was healed of blindness, I have had my eyes opened up to the truth of Jesus' message, and I simply will not vote in favor of encouraging sins, only to tax them as a high-rate. I believe that Casinos have been successful largely because they have allowed government and organizations to take the last dimes out of the previously tightly clenched fists of the poorest of the poor amongst us. Go to the casinos, and look around. Is anyone smiling? No they are not. And why aren't they smiling? Because they have spent the entire night hoping that they will win against all odds as they rack up more and more debt while obtaining absolutely nothing of tangible value.

    7) Diversity - A broad spectrum of backgrounds and ideas is sometimes needed to solve old issues with new ideas. - Translation - For 40 years Tulsa has needed to fix our streets. Have we been able to do it? No. Think about it. We have spent 40 years hoping and wishing to fix our streets. This is not a partisan issue, this is bureaucracy at its finest. And so solve these issues and issues like this, I am going to surround myself with individuals who share my conservative beliefs, but who have much more experience than I have a getting things done.

    8) Customer Service Focussed City Government - Yes I do realize that Customer Service Focussed City Goverment is a currenlty an oxymoron, however this can change. - Translation - Have you ever been fired about making a difference and about letting city government know your opinions, only to have your motivation and inspiration killed by 30 minutes spent waiting on hold to talk to a guy who will connect you with a guy, who is pretty sure he knows who you need to talk to? This type of city government funk will be a thing of the past under the Clark administration. Government works for you, and it is time that it starts to abide by the Golden Rule Philosophy, to "Treat Others As You Would Want To Be Treated."

Should Tulsa Be Ran Like A QuikTrip Or A Git N' Go?

A Question for Tulsans: Should we run Tulsa like a QuikTrip or a "Git N' Go?"

We can make Tulsa great again by adopting established and proven "industry best practices" and implementing them city wide into local government. When Sir Isaac Newton so wisely wrote, "If I have seen farther it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants" he was not referring to standing on the shoulder's of the Earth's tallest humans. He was referring to how much easier it is to achieve when you implement that same proven strategies and ideas employed by successful people and organizations. In practical terms, he was telling the city of Tulsa to implement the same proven systems within its city government that QuikTrip uses within its company. Mentally marinate on that. I think that the majority of us can all agree that QuikTrip is the most successful customer service business in Tulsa and in the region. Thus, wouldn't it make sense to implement their customer service and success strategies in the City of Tulsa? They have thousands of employees, and so does the city of Tulsa. However to date, it appears as though Tulsa is fond of implementing Git N' Go's "Winning" customer service strategy, and everyone reading this knows what I am talking about.

    • Have you ever called the City of Tulsa? Have you ever found your day evaporating why you wait on hold.
    • Have you ever gone to the local DMV? Have you ever spent 30 minutes there attempting to figure out why they have sought the decor consulting advise of a communist day care center? Have you ever wondered by they don't take certain types of credit cards, and if they do take your credit card you have to pay an additional fee?
    • Have you ever applied to get a tent put up in your backyard? Have you ever wondered why getting a permit to put a tent in your backyard takes 12 months of foresight and unparalleled amounts of patience to obtain?
    • Have you ever driven past those ominously placed construction cones that have been blocking off one lane of traffic for the past 2 months? Have you ever wondered why you have never seen a city construction worker working on that lane of traffic that they decided to block off 2 months ago?

Recently in my neighborhood, the city blocked off an area of sidewalk for repairs. This area stayed blocked off for 2 weeks and on 2 occasions I drove by the construction site only to see 3 construction workers playing basketball on my neighbor's driveway. Then the thought occurred to me, "Would QuikTrip ever have a problem with their employees taking 2 weeks to fix a small problem with a sidewalk? Would QuikTrip allow their bathrooms to become dirty? Would QuikTrip allow their valued customers to wait in line for 30 minutes before somebody waited on them?" The answer is a resounding "No." QuikTrip would not allow outrageously poor levels of customer service, competition and company values would not allow it, and our local city government should not behave this way either.

Thus, my fellow Tulsans, I am not proposing that as Mayor I will invent a revolutionary new way to handle customer service on a city wide level. However, I am proposing that I am smart enough and humble enough to seek the "best practice" advice from the leaders in customer service. I will seek the advice of QuikTrip, because they know what they are doing and the city of Tulsa does not.

TOURISM IN TULSA? CAN WE COUNT SOD FARM TOURS?

Before clarifying my thoughts on how we can turn Tulsa's economy into a tourism friendly one, we all must agree on something. Tulsa is currently about as an exciting of a potential tourist destination as Des Moines Iowa  (their website is even catchy and tourism friendly: http://www.ci.des-moines.ia.us/). Sure we can pay people lots of money to produce slick calenders and "Come and Visit Oklahoma" commercials, but the reality is this. Very few humans who live within 3 hours of Tulsa would like to come and visit Tulsa to see our tourist attractions. And although the city is proud of them, most local Tulsans do not even visit our museums more than once. Thus we need to allow capitalism and the innovation it produces to turn poorly used areas of land and resources into tourist attractions that we keep people coming back for more (and no, I am not referring to building "Jiffy Lubes" everywhere).

Part of my ambition to run for Mayor of Tulsa is based on my fundamental belief that Tulsa can truly become great, and that it is currently not great. If you take offense to this, that's fine but here is the reality...Tulsa is a city filled with great people and very few great points of interest. If Tulsa beats out Des Moines, Iowa this year in its in its appeal for a family vacation destination of choice then that is reason to celebrate. Tulsa does not offer the amenities that a first class city should offer and here is my plan to change that. I propose that the citizens of Tulsa come together to back an audacious dream for Tulsa to transform itself from an average town to a great city starting now. Once elected I will work and lobby tirelessly to convince the powers at be to allocate a portion of Tulsa land to be donated (Given) to Six Flags, Disney or Busch Gardens etc...This land will donated TAX-FREE to the agreeing theme park in exchange for a contractually binding agreement that will promise Tulsa the construction of one of America's best theme parks.

Centrally located in Tulsa this theme park would attract hundreds of thousands of TOURISTS per year eager to spend their entertainment dollars at the Mid-West's Best theme park. As the tourists flock in, hotels and resteraunts will follow and so will opportunity, and the only thing standing in the way of making this dream a reality is bureaucracy and a lack of vision. I believe our current city government is doing a tremendous job in serving the citizens of Tulsa on a multitude levels. However, attracting tourism to Tulsa does not appear to be one of their strengths.

To voice your concerns, comments or compliments to the local city governent of Tulsa contact them via telephone at 596-2100 or via the internet www.cityoftulsa.org,  but we prepared to wait because government is never in a hurry.

Soon To Be Tulsa Mayor Speaks Truth From Behind the DJ Booth.

As the 2008 year heads into the fall season, the political landscape of this country has become almost unbearable to witness as it appears America will vote for an outspoken "Socialist" candidate.  And how did we get here? We got here by allowing big American government to create a life without discernable consequences for 50% of an entire generation.

Long gone are the days of personal responsibility and self-discipline being excepted by all. We are now entering into a time where free college has become a popular idea, 0% home loans have become common place, reduced sentences for crimes are the norm, and living off of government is viewed as being ok. Whatever happened to the self-disciplined Americans who were willing to sacrifice to achieve their hopes and dreams.

Maybe I am wrong here, but I vaguely remember something our Founding Fathers said about, "The right to pursue life, liberty and happiness." Maybe they said something about, "The right for free college, reduced sentences for crime, the right for free health care, and the right to be a "Jabba the Hut" lazy mindless moron who gets to live off of the government's dime for your entire life" I just can't remember? (Call me, if you can find these socialist rights promised in our Constitution)

Tulsans, if you are tired of government playing the role of "Robin Hood" as they take from the hardworkers so that they can give to the sloths amongst (and I am not talking about the legitimate 2% amongst us who are physically and mentally unable to work) then call me today and voice your concerns and your proposed solutions. Together we can expose government as being the "Necessary Evil" that it is (according to Thomas Jefferson).

We must all act now, before full-blown socialism manifests itself throughout our great country.

Aspiring Tulsa Mayor Is Tired of the Bottom Feeding Carp.

Being someone that has benefited greatly from the free and uniquely-American-capitalist system that has made our country great, I am one of the first people to take great issue with the 2008 candidates and their socialist policies. Although it is politically incorrect to say, the sad reality that we are facing now is that many Americans in today's workforce are lazy (and I mean Rosanne-Bar-In-Aerobics-Class-Lazy). And in a truly capitalist society the reward earned for being lazy would be poverty.

Another sad reality that we are facing today is the "zipper crisis." Apparently most men ages 18-30 are not aware of how to use their zippers. And to further complicate things, these men who unaware of how to use their zippers keep falling on women with their zippers down, which keeps impregnating them. And in the game that I call "capitalism," those men who keep falling on women (because of a "lack of sexual education") and keep fathering multiple kids out of wedlock would all be winners of the big "Poverty Prize" that everybody seems to want so badly today.

My friends, the point is this. Many (however, not most) Americans are lazy and dumb. How else could you explain the mindless teen pregnancy that is running rampid and the horrible and ultra-lazy work ethic displayed by many of America's young workforce today? And the point that I am attempting to make is not that today's workers are dumber and lazier than the previous generation. The point that I am making is that today's workers are just as dumb and lazy as I would be if I lived a life completely without the fear of consequences.

    • Laziness should equal poverty.
    • Lack of sexual discipline should equal a life of hardwork with little descretionary income left over.
    • The lack of an ability to save 20% down, should equal the inability to buy a first home.
    • The lack of one's ability to show up to work on time, should result in their being fired.
    • The lack of self-discipline that results in one becoming addicted to drugs should equal some time spent in prison.
    • Going to prison should result in having a horrible experience, not a coddled-politically-correct-get-your-degree-while-in-college-style prison experience

In a capitalist system, people get paid for the work they do and for quality in which they do it. If you are hardworker and you consistently over-deliver, and devote yourself to on-going learning you will get promoted. In a capitalist system, those who consistently under-deliver, and who seem completely unwilling to push themselves to pursue on-going education (and no, I am not talkin about college courses) get fired, and find themselves working at jobs that are less than exciting.

In capitalism, those who have the most responsibility and those who solve the most problems get paid the most and we call them leaders. However in today's politically incorrect world of everyone's-opinion-is-valid-and-the-reason-why-I-am-late-is-because-my-parents-forgot-to-wake-my-24-year-old-butt-up-this-morning, the people who perform the least still get paid while the successful producers in this country get fleeced through over-taxation. Didn't we pour tea into the Boston Harbor to protest double taxation? Then what do we call today's taxation system? Income tax + sales tax + property tax + car tag tax + cell phone usage tax + luxury tax + airport tax + endless taxes...and all on the same hard earned dollar? Do you think that the founders of this great country would call that "Ocho Tax?" Now Obama, might call this "spreading the wealth." However, I call it "socialism."

Taking the hard-earned money away from those willing to work hard and save so that it can be given to many of the people out there that are the bottom feeding carps of our system is not ok, and there exists a word for this. The word is "socialism." Redistribution of wealth is not ok and it will destroy the fabric of America.

The reason why Henry Ford mass-produced the automobile, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, Carnegie mass-produced steel by being one of the first to implement the massive use of the "Bessimer Process" and countless other industries were founded in America, is because America offers a great reward for taking great risk and experiencing great achievement. And we call this great reward, "A GREAT PAYCHECK!" However now, it seems as though Barack and the bottom feeders are happy to give everyone 13th place trophies while Dane Cook says, "I did my best."
